Who is our Enemy?

May 17, 2008

Author : Teky

This is the question asked by our former president Dr. APJ. Abdul Kalam, while he was addressing a huge gathering of school students. There were many answers came from them. But the one which was agreed by himself and we all was ‘our enemy is poverty’. It was the root cause of many problems not only in India but in most of the developing and under developing countries. It is not easy to solve this problem within a week or month or an year. But we can make it. If we all join hands.

Dear readers, you can make it. Join hands to help the needy. After you settled well in life. After starting to earn, spend some time for these people. At least once in a year. Instead of celebrating all your birthday parties or anniversaries in star hotels and boozing with friends and giving treats for unreasonable things, Celebrate your special days with these people in orphanage or help the needy people by providing good food or clothes or whatever they need to live a peaceful and healthier life like a normal man. You will surely feel the difference. You will see the happiness in their face which you may not seen anywhere. As the way to be happy is to make others happy.

    true poverty is our enemy…but don’t you think we need to start working now to eradicate it? buy the time we settle,we might become lazy….by starting now,i think we can make a bigger difference…

    @Vishesh:
    Ya that depends upon individual. Better we can start now….. and after started earning in life they can spend their own money na! without expecting anyone.. that’s why told….

  3. May 17, 2008 2:16 pm

    ya…but money is not only thing we can contribute…:)

  4. May 17, 2008 4:18 pm

    I agree with Vishesh – I dont’t know if the true enemy is poverty or a mixture of poverty & illiteracy. Money is one sure thgy everybody of us can provide, we should also take time to spead the knowledge. Teach poor kids on a weekend. Visit a childhome and help them with their activities. These are my views!

    Btw excellent post!! Its a simple, neat thought with crispness.

    @Vishesh: Yep… I forget to add 🙂 provide whatever you can and whatever they need… edited 😛
    Thanks

    @RJ: Yeah! your views are correct. But education is other side. Able to sustain in this world itself still a problem to many people na! so we have to solve that first….

    Thanks for the comments….. 🙂

    “Poverty is our enemy”
    let me share this incident that happened 2 days before
    A poor man came to my father n asked to give him some money for having tea, my father was ready to buy him a tea n he asked him to get into the hotel , he was nt interested in that n slipped away very quickly . what does that mean?
    so y did he beg ?

    i do not agree that giving money is the only way of helping the needy people..let them work ,provide opportunities for them to work so they can earn….except for the old ones n children

    @allirekha:

    Yeah! I didn’t told that money is the only way 🙂
    >>by providing good food or clothes or whatever they need to live a peaceful and healthier life like a normal man.

    we can start helping here from this blog * idea*..i know everyone here is trust worthy , add ads into this blog n earn for clicks n anyone of the administrators can contribute that money to any charitable society …
    well i m nt sure about the technical_________ of this thing, it just came out of this small girl’s small head, hope there snt anything to laugh 😀

  9. May 18, 2008 5:43 am

    @rekha: no there is nothing to laugh ,i do intend to make this a forum,where we can bring to light the various problems in the world and also the solutions for them.

  10. May 18, 2008 5:48 am

    @ vishesh
    do u think my idea will work?

  11. May 18, 2008 5:57 am

    @rekha: it will,but let us not add it now,i think we should first concentrate on writing..it is a lesson i learnt in my old blog,even if you have substance,too many add-ons can take people away..so let us first build for a month or so and then get associated with other sites 🙂

  12. May 18, 2008 8:04 am

    Oh damn!!! I feel so guilty, because I just wrote a post on how I blew away my hard earned money by partying all night! 😀
    But still, the fact that poverty is eating away at our country’s backbone is a serious threat… Can we do something like raise money? I swear I will not go clubbing for a month and donate some money for the cause… Can we all get together and do something? Please?

  13. May 18, 2008 8:06 am

    @Allirekha @Vishesh
    Wordpress DOES NOT support Google ads!! 😀

  14. May 18, 2008 8:49 am

    @nikhil: it doesn’t support google,but it does support something else,i remember seeing something 🙂 and yes we are all here for that to do something!

  15. May 18, 2008 9:24 am

    @allirekha:
    As nikhil said, wordpress will not support adsense and paticularly it will support only pure HTML. Javascript is not allowed. Also as vishesh said “too many add-ons can take people away” that is absolutely true… So we can make it after some days…

    @Nikhil
    >>I swear I will not go clubbing for a month and donate some money for the cause…

    “Our enemy is poverty.” Well said!

    I agree that money is not the only way in which we can contribute. There are so many ways. Even a small step will go a long way in making the world a better place for all of us.

    i would say that the real enemy is not poverty but what cause the poverty. It sems as if people dont want to work but die of hunger. our so called leadersare the one to be blamed.in the name of development they hoard millions into their banks. 10% of this cash as charity is enough to start a relief home for these needy people. wsith that capital they can even start a self help society and we can advertise their product in this blog………… Think abt it …. is our enemy poverty or creater of poverty. it is due to them that the rich is becoming richer and the poor becoming poorer. we cant blame povert as such.

  22. May 26, 2008 8:17 pm

    @Anirudh:

    There were childrens include and childrens only dying more due to poverty. Do you think that they can work?

    >>our so called leadersare the one to be blamed.in the name of development they hoard millions into their banks.

    well said..
    Yep…we can make a difference…. actually whose peoduct you are talking about.

    The NGO Ludhiana Welfare Organization (Regd.) motto is welfare of all community in the world. It is necessary that one should know his right & duties toward nation and what are the duties of govt. to public? We have started a NGO LWO the website http://www.rtiludhiana.com to create awareness among the citizens to use Right to Information Act to get their work done in the government departments. This Act RTI will bring transperancy and accountability in the bureaucracy.
